ABOUT
Virtual Assistant Yorkshire
Why should you hire me? With a career spanning the corporate, business and education sector, organisation and efficiency are second nature to me. My eclectic CV brings with it a broad range of skills which I now offer to you. Administration, organising, planning, research and simply getting stuff done is what I thrive on. Nothing pleases me more than ticking off an ever-growing to-do list whilst knowing I’ve done a thorough job with my trademark attention to detail.
I have worked in a secretarial, administrative, business, research, and teaching capacity for over 30 years. I started my career with an international computer company in the 80’s before the invention of the internet and when a single mainframe computer would fill an entire floor!
When my children started school, I returned to education and completed a BA Hons Degree in Politics & History and a post graduate teaching degree. I have taught in further education since 1999. As part of my teaching role, I coordinate maths and English across three campuses, I write and present training material, mentor new staff and liaise with external agencies.
Although I support businesses from all sectors, my specialism (gained through 15 years teaching learners with special education needs) is working with neurodivergent clients. Being neurodivergent isn’t a disability, but a difference in how the brain works and supporting neurodiverse clients is about doing things in a way that they find more manageable.
Neurodivergent people essentially struggle with their executive function and some of the issues they can experience (everyone differs) is poor organisational skills, feeling overwhelmed, losings things (relentlessly), and difficulty switching tasks or the inability to stick to one task.
This is where I come in! I can make these issues feel much more manageable by:
• Offering regular support and structure. Have regular admin meetings?
• Drafting emails
• Organising calendars.
• Controlling your email inbox.
• Form filling
• Proofreading
• Collating data
• Research
• Typing documents
I am super organised, and I have years of experience supporting my partner and son-in-law in their property and restaurant businesses, creating order out of chaos whilst they build their business empires. You will have peace of mind that all your tasks will be completed professionally, thoroughly, diligently, correctly and on time! I can provide you with the benefits of a professional assistant without the burdensome overheads of an in-house member of staff. No holiday pay, tax, NI, sick leave, pension, office space, training costs, software licences, insurance or equipment required!
A little bit about me; I am the original dog lady! I have a Jackshund called Lola (Jack Russell, Dachshund cross) and when I’m not at my desk working you can find me in my local park walking Lola and enjoying the beautiful countryside. I love to travel, and I love to cook, hence my ever-expanding waistline!
Working with me:
Most of my work is done virtually from my home in Wakefield, Yorkshire, but sometimes it can be more efficient to meet/work with clients face to face. An initial scoping meeting or conversation will help us to establish what will work best for us both.
I can offer flexible working patterns to suit your lifestyle and business performance. You will only pay for the hours that you require and when you require them.
